Police responded after a woman faked being sick to escape a bad date

You could call a friend to get you out of a bad date. Or you could call the police.

According to a crime blotter in Amherst, Massachusetts, one woman, who found herself on a less-than-fun hiking date last week, chose the latter option.

Author and editor Alexander Chee tweeted a photo of the report, which might have swerved a little too far into the sass zone.

Hey, if your WeChat date's not up to par, you should feel empowered to leave at your leisure. Unfortunately, it seems this woman — or her concerned date — actually called 911, which probably took the charade a little too far.

Remember: love isn't always real, but emergency services are.
